Getting excited about Qatar

The final leg of my journey will be a week in the Middle East. Even The Lonely Planet Guide uses that friendly phrase "if you are in the neighbourhood, stop by". I am looking forward to spending time with family.

Here are some of my favourite photos I found on the world-wide-web that inspired me. I have also been inspired by both Shelley and Keith's descriptions through blogs and through their inspiring Pixels to Pages (digital photo albums). Their warmth and kindness, sense of adventure and written descriptions made it easy to take a slight detour on my way home. It's going to be quite an adventure!
Shelley is a good sport and if I be a good house guest (and spell her name correctly in my blog) she may even come on a camel ride with me.

I will be arriving in the last week of Ramadan and have a few things on my bucket list like:

  • swimming in the Persian Gulf and possibly kayaking
  • take a short journey on a camel
  • visit the Museum of Islamic Art
  • explore the Souq Waquif
